1860s - Capt. W.R. Bell in uniform (centre) with two companions


Probably taken in Ontario in the mid to late 1860s or early 1870s. - Major Bell, then a Captain, seated, with two companions during his military career. At one time he was a member of the Grand Trunk Railway Brigade. The photo was likely taken in an Ontario studio.

Some of the insignia on the uniform were preserved by the Bell family, and donated to the Bell Barn Society of Indian Head in 2018. They currently reside with the Saskatchewan Sports Hall of Fame, Regina, Sask.
